Public House is the one hotel that sits in the thick of Soi 31 rather than out on the main road, which is its whole appeal. It is a design hotel, part of the Design Hotels group within Marriott Bonvoy, done in an Art Deco and mid-century key: parquet floors, modern art, subway-tiled bathrooms and super-king beds.
The rooms run bigger than the Bangkok norm and come quietly loaded, and downstairs there is a charcoal grill in SWD, an Art Deco cocktail room in Open Bar and a rooftop pool at The Mooon, so a lot of a good evening can happen without leaving the building.
Mostly though, it is about where you wake up. Step out of the door and the coffee, the dinners and the bars the rest of the city travels to reach are already on your street.
