About this guide
An honest map of one good street
Sukhumvit31.com is a small, independent guide to a single Bangkok side street that happens to be one of the best places to eat and drink in the city.
There are plenty of guides to Bangkok. Almost none of them stop long enough on one street to tell you which end has the good coffee, which restaurants are worth the deep walk, and where to go for a quiet last drink. That is the gap this guide fills.
We cover Sukhumvit Soi 31 and the lanes that branch off it. Everything listed is somewhere we would happily send a friend flying in for the first time. We leave off the places that are coasting, and write the entries the way we would explain them to you in person: what it is, what to order, and what you should know before you go.
How we choose
No one pays to be on this list. Venues are included because they are good and genuinely on or just off the soi. When a rating is shown, the source is named. When something is worth a caveat, we say so. If a place closes or slips, it comes off.
Where the facts come from
We cross-check against the sources Bangkok locals trust, among them Time Out Bangkok, BK Magazine, The MICHELIN Guide, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, What’s On Sukhumvit, Siam2nite, official venue websites and listings. Bangkok moves quickly, so we review the directory regularly and date every update. If you spot something out of date, write to us at [email protected].
Ratings and bookings
Where we show a star rating it is a real figure from a named source, like Google or Tripadvisor, and we note the month we last checked it. We only show ratings with enough reviews to mean something. Otherwise we let a venue’s credentials, like a Michelin star or a place on Asia’s 50 Best, do the talking. Reservation and booking links go straight to the venue’s own page or the platform it uses.
